Según el artista que creó la viñeta que aparecerá en la portada de la revista "The New Yorker" se trata de una sátira de "la política del miedo", y las tácticas sucias que se han utilizado contra el candidato Barack Obama.

Según la campaña de Obama es una imagen "ofensiva" y en este caso, la campaña del republicano John McCain concuerda. "Estamos completamente de acuerdo con la campaña de Obama" dijo un portavoz republicano.
